"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
Ephesians 6:11
Paul writes to the Ephesians as a man who understands war. He'd seen Roman soldiers up close—their equipment, their discipline, their readiness for battle at any moment. So when he describes spiritual warfare, he uses language they would understand.
The armor of God isn't metaphorical in the sense of being less real. It's metaphorical in the sense of being more real than physical armor. The belt of truth holds everything together. The breastplate of righteousness protects your vital organs. The shield of faith extinguishes every flaming arrow.
This design is a visual inventory. A checklist. A reminder that you don't face the day unequipped—unless you choose to. The armor is available. The question is whether you'll put it on.
Every morning is an opportunity to gear up. Every day is a battle. Belt. Breastplate. Shoes. Shield. Helmet. Sword. Are you dressed for the fight?
