"Contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people."
Jude 1:3
Jude tells us to "contend for the faith." The Greek word is epagōnizomai—an intensified form of athletic competition. This isn't casual effort. This is everything you've got.
Faith isn't something that just happens to you. It's not a feeling you wait for. It's a fight you engage in. Against doubt. Against despair. Against the thousand voices telling you it's not real.
The "faith that was once for all entrusted" is under constant attack. From outside the church and from within. Someone has to contend for it. Someone has to fight to preserve what was handed down.
That someone is you. In your home, your workplace, your own mind. Every time you choose faith over fear, you're fighting. Every time you trust when the evidence seems thin, you're contending. Every time you hold fast when letting go would be easier, you're a warrior.
Fight for faith. It's worth the war.
